INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Shawn Hofer

Dr. Shawn Hofer is a highly experienced psychoanalyst, with a doctorate degree from Rosemead School of Psychology and analytic training as a Graduate Analyst from the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Institute. He has been a faculty member at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute since 2006, teaching both the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program and the Psychoanalytic Certificate Training Program.

Dr. Hofer is particularly interested in teaching psychoanalytic theory and practice to those at the beginning of their learning in the psychoanalytic tradition. He is also interested in new ways of understanding the psychoanalytic frame and working with spiritually oriented patients, with a focus on the intersection of psychoanalysis and Christianity.

Dr. Hofer practices privately at The Woodland Center for Therapy in St. Paul, MN. He is also the founder of The Woodland Center for Analytic Learning, offering high quality psychoanalytic education that is easily accessible.
